I'm really passionate about up skilling small business owners around the benefits of email automation, so, now i've explained what email automation is, this article will focus on the essential ingredients your business needs to deliver email automation.
What I personally love about automation is, that it allows your business to automate repetitive manual tasks,making your workforce more productive.
To deliver email automation effectively, you need the right tools, but researching and finding the right tools can be overwhelming, so i thought i'd put together a list of email automation tools to help you decide what is the right software for you, so I hope this blog post helps...
HubSpot Marketing Automation
Hubspot allows you to automate your inbound marketing activity so you can move prospects further down the funnel and generate more qualified leads.
- Create simple workflows - the visual editor makes it easy to envision workflows in real time
- Personlisation - Personalize your emails for each recipient using specific details from your contacts database or CRM.
- Notifications - Trigger internal notifications for your team when a contact takes a noteworthy action
- Analytics - Gain insight into your entire funnel to see which marketing assets are performing the best
- Social schedule your social posts to be published when the right people will see them.
Cons:
- Customisation is limited, so if you need to adapt your processes and expand your CRM this may not be the right tool for your business

- Pricing starts from £42 a month, but they do special deals for start- up businesses
Ontraport Marketing Automation
Ontraport Is described on their website as; "the engine that powers all the interactions between you and your customers online — in ways that wouldn’t be possible manually".Pros:
- Send personalised automated emails and SMS messages
- Develop landing pages and data capture forms
- Store all captured data in their CRM database
- Marketing analytics to monitor performance
- They have loads of free content and resources to learn new marketing strategies
Pricing:
- Pricing starts from $79 per month but they provide a 14 day free trial
SendinBlue Marketing Automation
SendinBlue is an email automation that allows small businesses to automate tools in their workflow.
Pros:
- Create automated workflows
- Send emails and SMS messages
- Add customers to your CCM database
- The tool allows you to create Facebook adverts
- They have loads of plugins that sync with websites such as; Wordpress, Magento, Shopify and Paypal.
Pricing:
- You can sign up for free and there are five different pricing packages which starts from £0
ActiveCampaign Marketing Automation
ActiveCampaign is an email marketing, marketing automation, sales automation, and CRM software platform for small-to-mid-sized businesses that are not Ecommerce:
Pros:
- As well as visual automated workflows, this software allows you to A/B Test, email subject lines, images and call to actions
- Site tracking allows you to provide customers exactly what they are looking for
- Allows you to map all your automated workflows
- Lead scoring which allows you to track which customers are ready to buy and track your engagement.
- Clearly demonstrates where people are in the automated workflows
Cons:
- Doesn't have a shopping cart, so not great for eccomerce business
Pricing:
- You can request a free demo and there are four different pricing packages which starts from $9 per month.
Pardot Marketing Automation
Pardot is a marketing automation tool owned by Salesforce and offers powerful marketing automation to help marketing and sales teams find and nurture the best leads, close more deals, and maximise ROI.

- Dynamic lists - As well as the automated workflows, create one time or dynamic lists for better targeting
- Lead Scoring to identify who’s interested by scoring prospect interactions
- Dynamic content - Display targeted offers on your website and landing pages
- Google Analytics - Integrates with Google adwords and allows you to track keyword performance
- Artificial intelligence -Einstein Lead Scoring finds leads that are most likely to become customers based on their persona.
- If you already use Sales Force, then this integrates perfectly
Cons:
- Quite costly, so not ideal for start-up businesses
Pricing:
- Pricing is a little more costly on this platform, with pricing starting from $1250 per month, but they dow provide free demo's.
MailChimp Marketing Automation
MailChimp offers a marketing automation tool that allows businesses to automate their marketing to grow brand awareness.
Pros:
- Create Custom sign up forms on your website
- Utilise their gallery of landing page templates to host free downloads, product launches and competitions to drive sales
- Tracks performance of instagram and Facebook posts, email campaigns
- Turn Social followers into contacts, by getting them to sign up for your marketing
- Build look a like audiences
- Utilise their extensive list of email design templates

- Not so easy to see where people are in the automated workflows
Pricing:
- You can sign up for free, and they provide four packages starting from £0.
